The FSC is the top unit of FundsXML.org, meeting regularly and at least four times a year. The FSC's main tasks are:
- To decide about new memberships
- Terminating existing memberships
- To create working groups that execute the works on the standards and directives
- To decide about the release and realization of the working groups proposals and suggested standards
- To decide about dissolving the working groups
